 SARASOTA, FLORIDA, DECEMBER 16, 2009 - Today the HuB announced the launch of a full service Production Studio. The Rosemary District's warehouse-turned-technological creative lab is now home to a new production facility, complete with cyclorama wall and green screen capabilities.
Currently the HuB houses five creative and tech companies all building a robust video presence online. “As The HuB's production needs grew, we found limited access in the community to production facilities,” says The HuB’s new Production Facilitator and award-winning videographer Matthew Carman. “We felt if we possessed the need for this space, others in the community must have the need as well. We can now offer the only professionally-run studio in the Sarasota area that is open to the public for general use.” The new studio was unveiled at the HuB’s Rosemary Rising festival with a record attendance of over 500 people. “This is a welcome and valuable asset for media makers throughout Sarasota" says Sarasota Film Commissioner, Jeannie Cochran. "It's great to see the area's creative and technological capabilities expand and provide us another way to accommodate the needs of our community." The HuB’s primary purpose is to offer a meeting and networking ground for the community. “Having these production capabilities allows us another way to accommodate the needs of our community,” says HuB co-founder Matt Orr. “Before this, we could help introduce the filmmakers and videographers. Now we can offer them the facilities to collaborate.” The studio offers the 12- by 24-foot green screen, as well as a two-sided “cyc” wall, complete with a variety of professional lighting available. "The studio is already being used by film makers for casting calls and head shots. The HuB's core companies are using the studio for webinars, web broadcasting, commercials, and viral video.
