DEADLY CLOSURE CAST and CREDITS:
Janis McKenzie (portrayed by LISA VARGA, Marley & Me, America’s Most Wanted), is a 36 year old photographer in Sarasota. Janis witnessed her twin brother kill their parents. Twenty years later, she waits for him to come to kill her for her testimony. Trained in martial arts, she’s ready. All Janis wants is CLOSURE.
Jamey McKenzie (KENNETH STELLINWERF, Masters Program, Asolo) is the bad brother waiting parole. All he wants is for Janis to be dead.
Jamey’s accomplices in SRQ are a father and son pair of small time con artists, Mickey and Max Crass (CLIFF CESPEDES, a Grain of Salt and CLIFF MAPLES, Brainjacked), who just can’t get it right.
Captain Ben Rogers (DAVID MACKEY, veteran of 30 film and TV and 15 Theater projects) is outstanding as Janis’ Commanding Officer in a military intelligence branch in Kuwait and her lost love. After a ten year disappearance, Ben returns bringing love and chilling news.
Rod Barrett (GLENN LAWRENCE, stage credits from MacBeth to Bedroom Farce and four films) hires Janis to do photography for his book.
Carol Dodd (TONI ANN ROSSI, 10 movie credits including Naked Movie, Scrubs and Family Ties) is a country club manager who sees Janis as a wounded bird and wants to help.
Officer Abe Rabinowicz (BRUCE BLAUER, Burn Notice, Buckets of Blood, Runway to Nowhere) comes to Janis’ aid and into Carol’s love
life.
Marie Barbeau (SEVA ANTHONY, actress with numerous credits plus a former career Las Vegas magician’s assistant and dancer) is a Psychologist trying to see what makes everyone tick.
CAMEO APPEARANCES by International star AUDREY LANDERS, (A Chorus Line, the movie, with Michael Douglas; Dallas, 6 years; 10 gold records and credits too numerous to mention) and comedienne DIANE FORD (star of three HBO specials, 11 times nominated Comedienne of the Year, over 200 National TV appearances) bring their unique comedy and fun to add a light-hearted streak to the story as they seek to help Janis.
Like a Who’s Who of SRQ, many characters play themselves or interesting background roles, including:
Wes Roberts, SRQ Magazine;
Dr. Vance Askins, Orthopedic surgeon;
Kay Rosier, Big Cat Habitat;
Boomer Roberts, bartender (who’s more comfortable in front of the bar than behind it);
Daniel Landers in a brilliant performance as Jamey McKenzie at age 16;
Jeffrey Kin, artistic director or the Player’s Theater, portrays a homeless person;
Leon Salem, industry music pro, plays a janitor;
and Sarasota’s Actor of the Year, Cliff Roles, is seen as Sgt. Bronson.
PRODUCER LAURA AND ALAN ROBERT’S VISION: Tell JANIS McKENZIE’S story, while showing the beauty of Sarasota and its people. DEADLY CLOSURE is being filmed entirely within 15 miles of downtown Sarasota.
100% OF THE CAST, EXEC. COMMITTEE, AND CREW ARE FROM FLORIDA.
Locations include the downtown Island Park and marina area, the John Ringling Causeway and Hart’s Landing, Rosaire’s Big Cat Habitat, Jungle Gardens, Burns Court area and Towles Court. Private locations include SRQ Magazine, Sarasota Brewing Company, the Oaks Country Club, Pal Sailor Circus, SRQ JiuJitsu, Clark Road Medical Park and private homes.
SPECIAL MENTION: Jeanne Corcoran, Sarasota County Film Commissioner; Toni Welicki, Sarasota City permitting; Lucia Fishburne, State of Florida Film Commissioner, and Herb Miller, Governor’s Office of Film & Entertainment who made DEADLY CLOSURE Sarasota County’s first project to ever qualify under Florida’s state filming incentive program.
With a Special Thank you to GOVERNOR CHARLIE CRIST, who continues giving incentives and support to independent and filmmakers in our state.
This project will help our economy and attract other filmmakers once they know we have a dedicated Sarasota County film office available to help.
The film uses the RED CAMERA, the newest in digital cinema technology. Its running time is 110 minutes. DEADLY CLOSURE looks for completion in the fall of 2009 and a theatrical release.
